Privacy Policy

DocGenie ("we", "us", or "our") operates docgenie.work (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you when you use our Service.

Information We Collect

Form inputs. When you fill out a document wizard, the values you enter (party names, addresses, jurisdictions, etc.) are sent to our server so the AI can generate your document. We store these inputs along with the generated document so you can revisit it.

Anonymous session ID. We assign your browser a random session ID stored in localStorage. This lets you see your own documents on the dashboard. It is not tied to a real-world identity unless you choose to share that information.

Audit log. We log document creation, view, edit, export, and share events along with your IP and user-agent. This is for security, abuse prevention, and compliance.

How We Use Information

• Generate, store, and serve your documents.
• Run the AI provider (currently the Vercel AI Gateway, which routes to Anthropic Claude).
• Detect abuse and enforce rate limits.
• Improve our prompts and templates (in aggregate; we do not train any model on your inputs).

How We Share Information

We do not sell your information. We share it only with:

• AI providers (Anthropic via the Vercel AI Gateway) to generate your document. The Gateway operates under zero-data-retention by default.
• Hosting and infrastructure (Vercel) for delivery and storage.
• Anyone you explicitly share with via a generated share link.

Your Rights

You can:

• View all your documents on the dashboard.
• Delete a document at any time.
• Export your data via /api/v1/me/export-data (POST your session ID).
• Clear your browser's localStorage to disassociate from all stored documents.

If you are an EU/UK resident, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to access, correct, restrict, port, and delete your personal data. Contact privacy@docgenie.work.

Data Retention

Anonymous documents (no account) are retained for up to 90 days from last access and then purged. Documents you actively delete are soft-deleted immediately and permanently purged within 30 days.

Cookies

We do not use third-party analytics cookies. We use localStorage for session ID and saved-default preferences only.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 13.

Changes to this Policy

We will update the "Last updated" date when material changes are made. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
